What made my son a Singaporean after obtaining his Master’s Degree

The true story:-

After my son passed his SPM , he wanted to advance his career and as a village boy, he does not know which path he should take and asked his Bahasa Malay Master for guidance. Instead of guiding him , his Bahasa Malaysia master told him straight at his face that he should go overseas to study instead of applying for a place in our local universities .

Upon returning home, he told me what his Malay Master had advised him and to try his utmost for Polytechnics in Singapore ,of which he did through our encouragement.

A few weeks later, he was very happy and delighted when he received a mail from Ngee Ann Polytechnic indicating that his application was successful. We phoned my eldest daughter who was working in Keppel Shipyard as an Accounts Clerk then about the good news and she asked me bring him into Singapore with two Guarantors which we did. They were ( Assunta ) my ex- Boss wife a Singaporean and a close family friend Frankie Lu Kah Fook who congratulated my son and happily accepted the offer to be his guarantor.

After following the Poly’s procedures and finishing filling with the paper work, he was given a room in the Campus for the first year . The Poly standard Instructions were that, if new entrance participates in extra school activities, they were allowed to stay in Campus after one year otherwise they have to find accommodation outside campus. My son was lucky in the sense that his eldest sister is residing in Singapore and married a Singaporean. Hence, lodging, food and laundry were not a problem to us, as supporting parents.

After graduation at Poly he was the top student and top five percent of his cohorts entered Nanyang University to study Mechanical Engineering and has his Masters Degree on Scholarship of the auspicious of the British Petroleum Company who assigned NTU to research UNDERWATER ROBOTICS PROJECT of which my son and a few of his team of cohorts to finish the project assignments within the pace of two years. This thankfully, they succeeded.

After his graduation, he was assigned to travel to Taiwan UMCI short form of “UNITED MIRCRO ELECTRONICS CORPORATION ‘ to be trained in a Wafer Company of which he declined due to his closeness of family ties and obtained employment in the little Red Dot. On the advised of his eldest sister Karen , her Singaporean hubby, close friends including us as concerned and supportive parents, he then applied and was successful in his application to be a Singaporean Citizen

Nevertheless, He is thankful, if without his Form Five Bahasa Master prompting and advising him to go for overseas studies, he would not have taken this flawless right decision.
